Light Rail and #MTR Bus will gradually adopt new Octopus validators

New validators are equipped with colour displays to show your fares and remaining value with bigger texts

Passengers may also touch their Tuen Mun – Nam Cheong Day Pass or other Single Journey Smart Tickets onto validators at Light Rail Platforms in the future

Static tests have been carrying out onto Urban Lines Vision Trains since their arrival in early-2018

New carriages are only equipped with train borne computers of the new #AdvancedSeltrac signalling system therefore they are required to be driven in slow speed from Lantau Island to Tsuen Wan Depot through Lai King Centre Track

This is to enable new trains to test with the new signalling and improve the scheduled train service levels also the capacity of Tsuen Wan Line from late-2019 as estimated

From 1/Nov (Wed),

the Student Travel Scheme will enter Stage 2, meaning students who are yet to renew their “Student Status” must pay adult fares until the renewal application has been completed

From 1/Nov to 28/Feb/2019,

Chinese tourists with vouchers are eligible to enjoy 30% off their fares when entering the #MTR network at Lok Ma Chau Station after 0900 hours when using Octopus and showing valid travel document

The offer must be redeemed at Customer Service Centre immediately before entering the gate

Not applicable for journeys to Lo Wu Station or using East Tsim Sha Tsui / Tsim Sha Tsui interchange

From 24/Oct (Wed),

adult Octopus holders using Citybus Route B5 and change #MTR fare-deducting journeys at Sunny Bay or Disneyland Resort Stations within 90 mins

and all Octopus holders travelling Green Mini Bus Route 901 and change any MTR fare-deducting journeys within 90 mins could enjoy $1 intermodal discount respectively

From 1000 hours on 17/Oct (Wed),

Tiu Keng Leng Station Exit A2 – Hong Kong Design Institute,

Chai Wan Station Exit C – Public Transport Interchange and Exit E – Hing Wah Estate may become exit only if there is overcrowding

Crowd control measures may also be applied at Yau Tong Station subject to passenger flow

until further announcements made by those stations
