The first brand new East West Line train procured for Shatin to Central Link Phase 1 works

has departed Tai Wai Station at 0817 hours for Wu Kai Sha Station

Facilities inside the train compartments have been improved according to passengers’ input whilst elements of Railway Vision scheme have also been incorporated

Initially the new trains will be in passenger service on weekdays from just before midday and finish moments after evening peak hours

Chinese tourists with coupons are eligible to enjoy 30% fare discount when entering the #MTR network at Lok Ma Chau Station after 0900 hours

The offer must be redeemed at Customer Service Centre immediately before touching in

Not applicable for journeys to Lo Wu Station or interchanging at East Tsim Sha Tsui / Tsim Sha Tsui Stations

港鐵故障消息 MTR Service Update

In the last non-traffic hours,

the first test train on East Rail Line entered sections of tracks that were temporarily taken over by the new signalling system – Siemens Trainguard MT ⬇️

The new signalling system enables East Rail Line to operate 32 trains per hour maximum in peak hours while current is 24

Normal operations has been resumed on the tracks after different trial runs
