現時,港鐵共購入六款「中國中車」生產的車廂,分別為一款由澳洲生產商中標,後委託「中車」代工的輕鐵;另有「中國製列車」、「南港島綫中國製列車」、「市區綫願景列車」、「東西綫列車」(暫名) 及 「高鐵列車」
除「高鐵列車」外,五款車廂均為不銹鋼車身, 多數亦採用「無搖枕式轉向架」(Bolsterless Bogie),與「新加坡地鐵」(SMRT)的車廂不同;而「高鐵列車」車身用到的鋁材則由日本進口
至於上述各款列車的電池,包括日本在內的其他國家亦有採用,至今未發現有品質問題
港鐵公司將聘請獨立專家,就列車的金屬物料作「金相分析」(Metallurgical Analysis),確保雜質不會超出國際標準上限

「港鐵故障消息」亦有在同日致函網站《傳真社》,但對方兩度不願公開談論,其所得資料能否證實新加坡的車廂,與港鐵列車採用之底盤(Chassis)相同
而鐵道車輛均為度身訂造的工業製品,新加坡所用的列車尺寸、牽引電源與香港相異,涉事車廂不可能轉送香港使用

Besides XRL Train, the rest of the carriages adopted stainless car body and mostly selected Bolsterless Bogies, which are different from SMRT Trains, while the aluminium used for XRL Trains are introduced from Japan
The batteries used on these trains are also used by other countries including Japan and no quality problem was found so far
The MTR Corporation will appoint independent auditors to conduct metallurgical analysis to verify that the impurity levels do not exceed international standards

We have written to the concerned website FactWire on the same day, however they refused to speak in public for twice whether the information they have gathered could support the claim that the SMRT carriages are using the same chassis with MTR Trains
Rolling Stocks are tailor-made industrial products. Since the size and traction current collection method are different, the SMRT trains involved cannot be transferred to Hong Kong
