「沙田至中環綫」第一期的工程團隊,在駕駛機車期間,發現一名港鐵員工身受重傷,並倒臥在大圍車廠的離廠軌道旁
職員即時召喚緊急服務到場,但該名員工已傷重不治
其後,另一組負責打磨路軌的工程人員,確認工作隊中一個 59 歲的男性輾磨車(Grinder)技術員失蹤,而失蹤者與上述死者為同一人
事件現由機電工程署及警方接手調查,期間大圍車廠部分軌道需要封閉,但未有明顯影響 5 月 23 日(星期二)馬鞍山綫的列車服務

During non-traffic hours on 22/May (Mon),
an #MTR staff with serious injuries was found lying near the Departure Track of Tai Wai Depot by the Shatin to Central Link Phase 1 team when they were driving a locomotive
Despite emergency services were summoned immediately, the casualty was later pronounced dead
Moments after, a rail milling team reported that a male grinding technician, aged 59, was missing and they later confirmed that the casualty was the missing staff
Police and Government officials from Electrical and Mechanical Services Department have taken over the investigation work. Departure tracks of Tai Wai Depot have been closed during the investigation but there was no significant impact on the train service of Ma On Shan Line on 23/May (Tue)
