Special crowd control measures
The Mass Transit Railway is the busiest transportation in Hong Kong. Station of all running lines will implement the following crowd control measures at anytime according to their needs to ensure passengers’ safety. Some of these measures have very long history and inherited from the London Underground：

In order to reduce the adverse effect to passengers, these measures will be uplifted as soon as possible when the crowd begin to disperse. Please be patient beforehand

Furthermore, carriages will be designated for exit only when the trains has arrived at certain platforms to reserve the room for other passengers

The measures above will apply on any occasions when necessary. Platform screens and automated announcements will remind passengers when these arrangements are in effect
