港鐵是全香港最繁忙的交通工具，各行車綫的車站均會按實際需要，逐步實施下列的人潮管制措施，確保乘客安全。部分措施亦師承自倫敦地鐵，可謂歷史悠久

另外，列車駛到部分車站後，將於特定時間內只准落客，以預留車廂空間予其他車站的乘客使用

如有需要，措施亦會隨時適用於其他場合。屆時，月台的螢幕及自動廣播將提醒乘客有關安排。控制中心亦會按實際情況隨時加開空車，或於通知乘客後，安排部分列車於中途站停止服務，確保各班列車均可暢通行駛
